**The regular season CSA continues until week #20 – The last week of October.**

Quick Tips -Wash your greens prior to eating! Your greens are all in the same bag. We do try to reduce plastic usage. These bags can be reused by you at home for sorting veggies in you fridge or can be recycled at stores that accept bag returns. Celery– more flavorful and dense than regular varieties in the store. A difficult crop for us especially in a drought year. Celery is always a great choice for soups and stuffings. Leafy tops can be used in a stirfry and added to roasts and soups. The tops can be cleaned, trimmed, dried, and placed in a freezer baggie for later use for these purposes. Broccoli- we did give it a vigorous soak but please watch for “inhabitants”. A home soak in salted water and swishing can’t hurt. Mustard Greens– spicier than last weeks variety. Not a fan of spicy greens? Cook them or add to soup and the spiciness fades. Cabbage – can be used as you would other head cabbage. We like to roast as cabbage steaks. See the directory. Purple Daikon Radish– stores well, no rush. Great raw, roasted, shredded, stir fry or try daikon au gratin (see directory). Butternut Squash – excellent roasted, for soup, and baked goods. This will store for quite some time at room temp. It can also be peeled, diced, and frozen without blanching. This is a timesaver if you have the freezer space.

2020 Extension CSA Membership – November 3rd – December 4th$150 – 4 weeks after the regular season with no deliveries during Thanksgiving week. We only have 9 spaces left!

FARM UPDATE: What a season – Thank you for your support!! We were fortunate to be able to feed 108 households this year. We had snow in May, excessive heat and lack of rain all summer, early frost, and finally some rain at the end. Through all of this there were changes with work schedules and daily routines. Here is a reminder of all of the veggies you were provided this season. (Week #1-#18) We are looking forward to nourishing you again in 2021! **Note-We hope that you tried something new this season or you found a new favorite recipe. Please don’t feel bad if you didn’t get to all of your veggies and lost a few in the back of your fridge or crisper drawer. It happens to the best of us!

Thank you for your support – without you- we would not be farming. THANK YOU!!
