Storage:  Best way if you can – roots down in a jar of water in the fridge with plastic bag over the tops.  see here

Otherwise maintain moisture at the roots; damp paper towel in crisper drawer in fridge or plastic bag but check regularly for excess moisture

Freeze:  I have just sliced and thrown in a ziplock freezer bag with great success and they can be added to soups, sautes, egg dishes later in the season as if they were fresh.
