CSA Membership Renewal Week : 10/8 – 10/15
Current members get the first opportunity to renew for 2023.
Our farm is a “CSA Farm” meaning that all of our sales come directly from CSA Members. We do not attend farmer’s markets or sell to restaurants. Our members support the production costs to run our farm and in return our CSA members are our main priority. Without members, our farm would cease to exist. Our early renewal initiative is required for us to make necessary purchases for the upcoming season and aids us in our crop planning.

Do you plan to attend our Gratitude Gathering? Please let us know

Broccoli- please soak in cool salted water before cooking to dislodge/remove any inhabitants. Hey-it’s organic and no pesticides. Excellent broccoli soup – use stems too! If eating peel outer skin of stem for tender inside.
Adirondack Red Potato-red inside and out; high in antioxidants; roasted, mashed, smashed; yes you can eat the skins.
Watermelon Radish – gorgeous pink on the inside; raw or cooked, shredded or sliced thin; excellent roasted, sautéed with butter and rosemary
Arugula – We did not wash it. It will store better. Wash before use if needed. Great in salads or quickly wilted in to pasta or veggie sautés or on pizza.
Green Tomato – our intention is for you to use these green. Try the recipe this week or fried green tomato or tomato pie (apple pie but with green tomato- sounds crazy but delicious)
Italian Flat Beans – great braised, stews, soups, sautéed; These beans are great for soup. Beans can be cleaned, trimmed, blanched and frozen.

Weekly Recipes: KP Holistic Chef – Katie Peterson has created 2 custom recipes to compliment your CSA share. The recipes are always listed on her website too www.kpholistichef.com @KPholisticchef
Don’t forget that you can look back to previous recipes as many veggies appear more than once!

Something Saturdays:
We accomplished quite a bit on Saturday! Thank you Jay (& his mom), Karen & Tom for all of your hard work!! We removed all of the old tomato plants, cages, and stakes in the field and the hoophouse. End of season clean up is in full swing.
