The CSA Extension Share helps you and the farm make it through the winter.

This extension share is open to 50 shares only — There is no paperwork. However, if you requested to be added to the list, please make your payment to confirm your spot.

IDEAS FOR THE WEEK:  Turnip & Turnip Greens – a special treat – we added new details to Turnip page in the directory. There is too much to type in here. Turnip greens are one of the most nutrient-dense greens that exist. These turnips are grown for winter storage and are slightly different from the earlier in the season salad turnips. These are not typically eaten raw although not unheard of. Purple Daikon – if you haven’t tried the Daikon AuGratin you really should. I haven’t tried it with the purple ones but we do love this recipe. Radish – when you cook radish it reduces the spicy flavor. They are great in salad or stirfry. Be sure to look at the radish page for recipes for the greens and creamy radish dip. Baby Bok Choy – a mild green in the cabbage family eaten as a salad, in smoothies, or cooked (cooks quickly) Arugula – peppery green – salad or cooked (cooks quickly) Butternut—so many choices – stores well into the winter. If you do see a damaged spot the best way to store it is peel, dice, and freeze for later use. This is a great time saver for roasting or soups for a quick dinner. We like to freeze some to reduce prep time on busy nights. We especially like to have it frozen for our butternut mac n cheez.

Thank you for supporting our small farm!!!
