***Special NEWS***

NO DELIVERY NEXT WEEK  — JULY 2ND – JULY 6TH

QUICK TIPS:  Be sure to take a look at the links for each veggie above. They take you to the vegetable directory. Snow Peas!! Eat the whole pod. Trim off the stem. They cook pretty quickly so when they turn bright green they are ready. Don’t overcook and leave some crunch. Garlic Scapes – a special treat – these are what would become a flower stalk on the garlic plant. Use as you would garlic for flavor. Use both the peas and garlic scapes in this recipe.  Great for garlic scape pesto and chard and garlic scape pesto. Asian Greens – red this week – can be eaten raw or cooked. Basil -will turn black if it gets too cold- store carefully, best used or preserved within a day or two. Chard Stems – yes, you can eat them – ingest those vitamins! See the directory for ideas.

Pesto – Yes, you can pesto just about anything – having trouble eating your greens?…. Pesto – take a look at this pesto basics guide and Pesto Basics 101.  Most pesto can be frozen after preparing into serving size cubes to use throughout the year.

Did You Know??– We have a vegetable directory on this website. We would like your CSA experience to wonderful and rewarding. For ideas, tips, and inspiration take a look at our directory. You might find a way to eat your veggies that you hadn’t thought of.  Do you have a storage question – ask – text – email. We are here for you.

. We have a Pinterest Page and have organized all of the veggies we grow onto boards. We have chosen these carefully over the past few years.  If you try a recipe on the Pinterest page leave your comments.

Do you have a favorite recipe??  – Share it with us and we will add it to our “Member Approved” recipes on the Vegetable Directory

Veggie Notes:  We do give your veggies a rinse at the farm – however, we do recommend a second wash at home as necessary.  Decisions on rinsing are made at the time of harvest and the effect it will have on your produce. Some items just store better unwashed. We do not use pesticides; therefore, it is possible that you find inhabitants in your produce. We try to restrict our plastic usage. The bags that you receive are recyclable at grocery store drop-offs.

Thank you for supporting our small farm!!!
