It is a muddy, misty morning on the farm today. We haven’t made much more progress on the new cold frame hoop house. The focus this past week has been to clear out old plant debris and remove ground cover and get the cover crops planted. We need to get it planted so we have some growth before the deep freeze. This will we incorporated into the soil in the spring for organic matter and to help with weed suppression. Joe and Marcus made quite a bit of progress on that and cleared out the summer squash, cucumber, and tomato beds. Joe was able to work the soil and get the cover crop planted on some of those areas before the big rain the past few days. The plan is to work on the hoophouse on Wednesday this week and work toward getting the arches up. Fingers crossed that all goes smooth! Do you have last weeks share to finish? Last week we made an Asian style dish with the stir fry sauce recipe in last weeks update -serve with rice or noodles. To be honest, we make a version of this dish about once a week with whatever is in season. I am sure that one of you creative chefs out there can make a soup with this weeks share. Let me know!….
