Storage & Cooking Tips :

Tomato – Store on the counter – do not refrigerate (unless left over and you have to)- allow to ripen at home – heirloom and cherry

Tomato Sandwiches! One of our favorites.  Use tomatoes in other vegetable dishes – sautéed, broiled, frittata, salads

cucumber and tomato cold salad….. cut up tomato and cucumber mix together in a bowl with an Italian vinaigrette or season yourself with vinegar and oil and salt and pepper. Store in the fridge – Refreshing on a hot day

You could even add other things like peppers, garlic, herbs…

Summer Squash – our summer squash plants have been slow going this season. We are guessing that they didn’t like all the rain when they were flowering.  Please be patient they seem to be recovering. Varieties we have growing are: yellow straightneck, yellow scallopini, cousa (light green oblong), Zucchini -costata romanesco (Italian heirloom), 8 ball (you’ll know which on that is if they ever grow), Zucchini (dark green oblong)

Coming soon… beets, Heirloom Tomato – striped german, green zebra; sweet cherry tomatoes
