Quick Tips – washing and storage – We do give most items a quick rinse on the farm. However, you should plan to wash at home. We do not use pesticides here so no worries about chemical residue, but you may find unwelcome tag-a-longs – you know what I mean. There are some storage charts available in the directory. The most important tip that I can share is proper storage will help your veggies maintain quality longer. It really helps if you come up with a plan that works for your household. Since we are using paper bags for sending the shares home this season, we lose the benefit of the box that insulated so well. We are packaging in produce bags that are recyclable where shopping bags are accepted like grocery/department stores. You may also like to reuse them at home to separate items for storage in your fridge. If you add a paper towel in your produce bags at home it helps absorb excess condensation. Excess moisture will reduce the quality and storage time. If your greens ever get wilty and sad due to loss of moisture, sometimes a dip/soak in some cool water can rejuvenate them.

Recipes – We have some links to recipes on each vegetable page in the directory and also have Pinterest Boards for vegetables. Everyone has different diets, tastes, dislikes, preferences. We try to have a variety of options available. If you receive a vegetable in your box that you are still not sure what to do with and still need help, please contact us and we will try to help you find a recipe or idea for you. There are several online recipe search sites available. If you have a favorite go-to site that you love let us know and we will spread the news. Here are a few:

  • Our Pinterest Boards
  • Food 52 – free
  • FoodHero.com – free – This is a new site. We were recently contacted by the company. I have not used it yet personally.
  • Cook With What You Have – on Facebook and also subscription-based – if enough interest we can purchase at a reduced rate – let us know

Payment Plans – Monthly installment payments are due by the 10th of the month. If you had us set up online invoicing you should receive an email from you preferred payment option (PayPal or Square) If you did not, you can make payments on our website. Split Payment Plan – 2nd payments are not due until August 1st. If you pay by check, you can bring it to your CSA delivery. If you ever wish to change your method or have questions, do not hesitate to ask. Thank you!
