In an effort to reduce printing waste we have moved to an online membership form. If you need a paper form, we can mail one to you. We can accept payments by check, cash, or credit card. There is a discount when you join early. As many of you know, we rely on early memberships to purchase required supplies to get the next season going and to let us know how many members to plan for.

QUICK TIPS AND NEWS:

New this week- Celeriac (Celery Root)  new to some, a favorite of others. Be sure to look at the Celeriac page in the vegetable directory for more details. The root must be peeled. It is rare to find celery root with the tops attached. The tops are wonderful for flavoring stocks, roasts, roasted poultry, soup, and salads. Take this opportunity to put some in the freezer for later. You should give a rinse to remove any dirt on the stalks, dry and just put in a baggie and squeeze out the air. You could chop first to save room. Leaves can also be used. Be aware that these tops are not as tender but more flavorful than regular celery and can overpower a dish.   The root is excellent roasted or mashed and also added to roasts, soups and stews.  The root will store – no rush.

New this week – Kennebec Potato – great for baking, mashing, roasting, and best for frying. They hold their shape well and are perfect for potato salads, soups, curries, and stews. We don’t peel our potatoes-just give them a good scrubbing.
