WELCOME NEW FALL SHARE MEMBERS!!!

Corno di toroQuick Tips: Red frying peppers– Versatile and great for eating raw, stuffed, grilled or traditionally fried in olive oil and sprinkled with parmesan. Mini-Sweets – we love to eat these any way raw or cooked and also excellent fermented. Peppers can be seeded, cut and frozen for use later – no need to blanch – just cut how you would like to use them later and removing seeds. Hot Peppers: Use gloves to cut up your hot peppers…remove seeds and white part inside to reduce heat. (no glove? put your hand inside a plastic bag to protect your hand from the oils) Don’t like the heat – add a hot pepper to your cooking oil in a smaller bottle to add a little zip to your stir-fry. Peppers are great to add to frittatas, eaten raw, roasted, in stir-fry, sautes, fermented, and frozen for later.

Eggplant: Spicy Eggplant Caponata this is a favorite even for “non-eggplant lovers” (you have the peppers & garlic for it this week; perhaps some onion from last week.) More ideas on the vegetable directory
